Jim Ward - President
Mr. Ward came to Sausal Corporation in June of 1987. During his tenure as President Sausal Corporation has grown from a $1,000,000 company to a $40,000,000 company successfully engaging in a wide variety of construction and construction management projects primarily throughout the greater Bay Area. All projects included in our references have been completed under his management. Mr. Ward is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California; has a M.S.C.E. in Construction Management from the University of California, Berkeley; M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, RI; and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Youngstown State University in Ohio. He is an active member of the Associated General Contractors of California, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Board of Advisors for the Salvation Army. Mr. Ward came to Sausal Corporation with 20 years of prior experience in engineering, contract management, project management and construction management having served in senior positions in the Civil Engineer Corps of the United States Navy. In the Civil Engineer Corps he managed major engineering and maintenance organizations that performed facility design, construction, and maintenance where he retired as a Commander.
Greg Gillis - Vice President, Corporate Secretary
Mr. Gillis is a Licensed Contractor and Registered Professional Engineer in California and he has earned M.B.A. and B.S.C.E. degrees from the University of New Mexico. His responsibilities include business development, estimating, project management, scheduling, contract execution and approval of expenditures. Prior to joining Sausal Corporation in 1990, Mr. Gillis had over 15 years of diversified experience in the construction industry including over 8 years as Director of Construction and Engineering for the nationwide building program at Mervyn's/Dayton Hudson Corporation. He also was a Project Manager for Bradbury and Stamm Construction in Albuquerque. Mr. Gillis has directly managed a variety of projects, including: retail stores, corporate offices, parking structures, industrial and processing facilities, schools, museums, and fire stations. His experience includes design-build, lease-leaseback, and negotiated GMPs, as well has hard dollar bidding.
Josh Ward - Vice President, Project Manager and Safety Officer
Josh has worked full time as a project manager since August 2007 he is now responsible for estimating and managing projects including solicitation of bids and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers as well as development of company safety procedures. He also worked part-time with the Sausal Corporation team as a Project Assistant since 2004 and before that as a Carpenter’s apprentice since 1998. Josh received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, and later his Masters of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. Josh is also a registered EIT in the State of California.
Leslie Ward - Vice President
Mrs. Ward is responsible for the Construction Marketing Division of Sausal Corporation, including but not limited to, direct customer and architectural contacts, new account development, and subcontractor and supplier evaluations. Mrs. Ward is also the LEED Specialist for all Green Building Projects. Mrs. Ward holds a Bachelor's degree from California Poly Technical Institute, San Luis Obispo, in Environmental Design. In 2004 she became a LEED Accredited Professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) through the USGBC.  Mrs. Ward joined Sausal in 1987 after serving 10 years with the Unistrut Corporation of No. California first as Project Manager and then as East Bay Sales Engineer. Mrs. Ward also spent two years with the Ventura County as a Property Manager, handling lease negotiations for the Channel Islands Harbor and County Airport. Her other responsibilities include: Profit Sharing Plan Administration; contract management functions.
Stanley Lacambra - Controller
Stanley is responsible for all the Administrative Systems of Sausal Corporation, including Purchasing, Personnel, Company Policy, Financial Controls, Accounting and Administration and Management of clerical staff.
Rusty Abernathy - Project Manager
Rusty joined Sausal Corporation in 2002 and is responsible for estimating and managing projects, including solicitation of bids and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers. Rusty has over thirty years experience in commercial and residential construction along with an educational background in Computer Science from Delta College. He is skilled in use of Primavera Project Planner, Expedition, and he is an expert in the development of computerized systems. Rusty has significant experience with school construction and has had great success with fast track projects ranging from ten to twenty-two million dollars.  Rusty has been a great addition to the Sausal Corporation Team.
Daniel Wood - Project Manager
Daniel joined Sausal Corporation in 2012. He is responsible for estimating and managing the construction of new projects. Prior to joining Sausal, Daniel worked in the design and installation of fuel systems at mission-critical facilities. He has managed auxiliary power system projects at various hospitals, data centers, and government plants all over the Western United States. Daniel also has experience as a project engineer working on mass transit systems for municipalities in the greater Bay Area. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2005.
